Please consider fostering…even short-term fostering is helpful. Look on the website under VOLUNTEER FOSTERING for more information. Fosters prepare the rescue dog for their forever home. We especially need foster homes in the Chicagoland area, although we welcome homes from downstate Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan. Fostering is our greatest need, and we can only save as many dogs as we have foster homes available. Because someone decided to open their home and heart to foster for us, every orphan on our Adoptable Dogs page is living with a loving foster family instead of being held in a scary shelter.…or worse. Regardless of how many foster homes we have, it seems we are always in desperate need of more. Sadly, people abandon GSPs faster than we can rescue them…especially when we don’t have enough fosters to house them.
